6. Sale, Sharing and Targeted Advertising
ShopHenCo Books does not sell personal information for money. However, some privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to include certain uses of analytics, advertising cookies, pixels, or similar technologies. To the extent these activities are considered a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, you may opt out by declining nonessential cookies through the website’s cookie controls or by contacting us.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18 for targeted advertising.
7. Third-Party Links, Retailers and Affiliate Links
The website may link to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Gumroad, social-media platforms, payment services, or other outside websites. When you follow an outside link, that provider may collect information directly from you. Your visit and any purchase are governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
Some product links may be affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link or make a purchase, the outside merchant or affiliate network may use cookies or similar identifiers to attribute the referral. ShopHenCo Books may receive a commission, generally at no additional cost to you.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing products or support, maintaining business and transaction records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud, and meeting tax, accounting, or legal requirements.
Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the nature of our relationship with you, the sensitivity of the information, and legal requirements. For example, inquiry messages may be kept while a request is active and for a reasonable follow-up period; transaction and tax records may be kept for the period required by law; and marketing contact information is kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to a limited suppression record needed to honor your choice.
